About this role

Department: Provincial Administration: Western Cape Location: Tygerberg Hospital, Parow Valley Salary: R237 453 per annum Requirements: Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent). Experience: Appropriate administrative experience in a hospital/ medical environment. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer literacy (MS Office suite i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook). Excellent typing and organization skills. Familiarity with PGWC information systems (IS), such as ECCR and ECM Opentext. Familiarity with the Vula referral system. Knowledge of testing modalities used in the Neurology environment (nerve conduction studies, EMG, EEG, evoked potentials, lumbar puncture). Ability to work independently. Ability to execute duties accurately and thoroughly. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure and in a team. High ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written). Duties: Provide administrative support to the HOD and Neurology team. Manage new patient clinic bookings, test bookings and Botulinum Toxin Clinic scheduling using the Vula platform and a central diary. Liaise with the Neurology OPD clerk regarding new patient bookings. Filing, forwarding and uploading to IS of all reports issued within the division. Receive and assist patients attending A8 Laboratory for appointments or queries. Receive and register all incoming correspondence/queries (by hand delivery, email or telephone), handle accordingly or delegate to the appropriate team member. Ensure effective and efficient administrative support and office management. Execute general administrative duties including submission of call rosters and leave forms to PGWC-HR, ordering of office consumables and equipment and asset management. Ensure effective records management and maintenance of filing systems. Liaise with provincial departments and all other stakeholders. - Maintain stroke unit data capturing on the Res-Q database, ensuring timely and accurate entry of stroke patient records and submission of related reports.
