About this role
Department: Department of Local Government Location: Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government Salary: R1 554 696 per annum (Level 14), (all-inclusive salary package) Requirements: A qualification at NQF 7 level, as recognised by SAQA; 5 years’ experience at senior managerial level. Competencies: Strategic Capability and Leadership; Project and Programme Management; Change Management; People Management and Empowerment; Financial Management. Duties: Strategic Management at a senior management level; Provide management and support services to local government within the regulatory framework including the development of Local Government legislation; Municipal governance; Formal and informal interventions as well as investigations in 310 terms of the Municipal Systems Act and Western Cape Monitoring and Support of Municipalities Act; Monitoring and evaluation municipal performance in line with the legislative requirements; Facilitating and monitoring infrastructure development within municipalities to ensure sustainable municipal infrastructure; Capacitating municipalities by providing support and capacity building initiatives; and People and Financial Management.
