About this role
Department: Department of Local Government Location: Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government Salary: R413 001 - R486 501 per annum (Level 08) Requirements: An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience recognisable experience in Community Development after obtaining the required qualification; A valid code B (or higher) driving licence. Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Community development knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to engage in the social development of communities; Understanding of human behaviour and social systems and legislation to assist with interventions at the points where people interact with their environments in order to promote self- empowerment; The ability and competence to co-ordinate community development structures and ability to manage projects; The ability to influence individuals and group to participate in their own self-empowerment ventures. Skills in the following: Communication (Verbal and written); Numeracy; Computer Literacy; Language skills; Project Management; Presentation skills; Facilitation; Research skills (information gathering and analyses); Supervisory skills; Problem solving; Report writing. Duties: Supervise and support Community Development Workers within the designated area; Community Development Coordination; Stakeholder and Intergovernmental Relations; Service Delivery Monitoring and Governance; Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation; Managerial/Supervisory functions.
