About this role
Department: Department of Health and Wellness Directorate: Employee Relations Location: Head Office, Cape Town (Stationed on the premises of Stikland Hospital) Salary: R932 292 per annum, (A portion of the package can be structured according to the individual's personal needs.) Requirements: Minimum educational qualification: An appropriate 3-year National Degree/Diploma in Law (LLB) or in Labour Law. Experience: Appropriate experience in the handling and management of labour disputes (conciliation and arbitration), misconduct cases and labour court litigations. Appropriate managerial experience. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Basic computer literacy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of all relevant Labour Legislation and all other legislation relevant to the Health Sector. Knowledge, experience, and skills wrt dispute resolution of the relevant 286 Bargaining Council and CCMA. Knowledge, experience, and skills wrt Labour Court procedures and practices. Ability to work under pressure. Duties: Providing formal legal advice and guidance to all relevant stakeholders pertaining to Labour disputes, misconduct and Litigation matters. Researching, analyzing, and evaluating applicable Labour Legislation and case law. Drafting and presenting learning outcomes to all relevant stakeholders in relation to misconduct cases, labour disputes and litigation matters. Managing and presenting evidence regarding misconduct cases, labour disputes and labour court litigation matters. Facilitate training regarding misconduct, labour disputes and labour court matters. Attend, participate and present case law at all ER and all other related forums as requested. Management of Staff within the sub-directorate: Disputes and Litigation Act as Director-ER in the absence of the Director.
