Competencies: Working knowledge and understanding of the following: Rearing ostrich chicks; General farm work; General routine activities with regards to infrastructure; Perform routine activities in respect of livestock; Perform routine activities in respect of plant production; Handling of ostriches; Research techniques; Cleaning routine activities in respect of infrastructure: Skills in the following: Communication skills (written and verbal); Numeracy; Literacy; Operating equipment; Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Duties: Perform general activities in respect of livestock: Care for sick livestock, dipping, vaccination and dosing; Perform general activities which would: Cleaning of facilities, disposal of farm waste material; Perform general activities in respect of infrastructure: Maintain fences, pipelines, canals, dams, drinking troughs, animal housing; building; Maintain water supply system.
