Department: Provincial Administration: Kwazulu Natal Location: Assisi Clinic Salary: Grade 1: R337 359 per annum Grade 2: R 4 11 978 per annum Grade 3: R495 423 per annum Other Benefits: 12% Rural Allowance, Medical Aid (optional) and Housing Allowance (employee must meet prescribed requirements) Requirements: Grade 1: Experience: No Experience Required Grade 2: Experience: A minimum of 10 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing and Midwifery. Experience: A minimum of 20 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing and Midwifery. Grade 12 / Matric or Equivalent. Diploma / Degree in General Nursing. Diploma / Degree in Midwifery Nursing Science. Current registration with SANC as General Nurse and Midwife / Accoucher. Current SANC receipt for 2026. Knowledge, Skills, Training And Competencies Required: Knowledge of Public Service Policies, Acts and Regulations. Knowledge of SANC rules and regulations. Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant legal frameworks. Good communication skills- verbal and written, leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, conflict management, decision-making, coordinating and negotiating skills. Knowledge and experience in implementation of Batho Pele Principles and Patient’s Rights Charter. Code of Conduct and Labour Relations. Duties: Provide quality comprehensive Primary Health care by promoting preventative, curative and rehabilitative services for the clients and community. Perform clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards for primary health care. Utilize human, material and physical resources effectively and efficiently. Administrative service such as providing accurate statistics for evaluation and future planning, identifying needs for financial planning and indirect control of expenditure as an integral part of planning and organization. Motivate staff regarding development in order to increase level of expertise and assist patients and families to develop a sense of self care. Provide safe and therapeutic environment as laid down by the Nursing Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable prescripts. Develop and ensure implementation of nursing care plans. Participate in clinical records audits. Work effectively, co-operatively and amicably with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences. Display a concern for patients, promoting and advocating proper treatment and care including willingness to respond to patients’ needs and expectations according to Batho Pele Principles. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by standards at primary health care facilities.
