About this role

Department: Provincial Administration: Western Cape Location: Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government. Salary: R932 292 per annum (Level 11 ), (all-inclusive salary package) Requirements: An appropriate Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc/BVMCh or equivalent qualification) recognised by the South African Veterinary Council; Compulsory registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC); A minimum of 1 year post qualification experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving license. Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Extensive fieldwork and exposure to infectious diseases; Ability to work in high-pressure outbreak environments; Physical mobility and ability to conduct inspections and investigations; Availability for after-hours and emergency response. Skills in the following: Computer literacy; Financial Management; Statistical; Research; Analytical; Communication; Interpretation. Duties: Animal Health Services and Disease Control; Epidemiology and Data management; Veterinary Laboratory and Diagnostic Services; Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety Regulatory Services and Compliance; Extension Services and Stakeholder Engagement; Emergency Preparedness/Early warning and Risk Management; Administration and Management. Requirements

  • An appropriate Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc/BVMCh or equivalent qualification) recognised by the South African Veterinary Council
