Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using NewGenJobs ("the platform", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. What NewGenJobs does

NewGenJobs helps South African job seekers find and assess job opportunities, prepare applications, use career tools, compare study and funding information, and learn practical workplace skills. Some services can prepare or submit an application only after your explicit action and confirmation. NewGenJobs does not employ candidates, award admission, award funding, or decide an employer’s outcome.

3. Your responsibilities

• 1.You must be a South African citizen or a person legally entitled to work in South Africa.
• 2.You are responsible for the accuracy of your CV, cover notes, and all information submitted in applications.
• 3.You must review every application before it is sent. The "always review before send" setting cannot be disabled.
• 4.You must not use the platform to submit fraudulent applications or misrepresent your qualifications.
• 5.You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform.
• 6.You must be 18 years or older to use this platform.

3A. Account access and security

Keep your sign-in details private and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission. You must not share an account, attempt to access another person’s account, upload another person’s documents without authority, or use the platform to send unsolicited, deceptive or unlawful communications.

4. Gmail integration

When you connect your Gmail account, you grant NewGenJobs permission to send emails from your account (to employers only, as directed by you) and to read sender addresses and subjects of incoming mail (to detect employer replies). You can revoke this permission at any time.

NewGenJobs is not responsible for how employers respond to applications, or for the outcome of any job application made through the platform.

5. Z83 Government Application Form

When you apply for a government position through NewGenJobs, we complete and submit the official Z83 Application for Employment form (gazetted 6 November 2020, effective 1 January 2021) on your behalf, using the information you have provided in your Z83 profile.

By saving your Z83 profile and submitting a government job application through NewGenJobs, you:

• 1.Confirm that all information in your Z83 profile is true, complete, and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• 2.Authorise NewGenJobs to complete the Z83 form on your behalf, including entering your initials in the "Initial" fields on each page as required by the form.
• 3.Authorise NewGenJobs to enter your full name in the "Signature" field on the Declaration, as a digital representation of your signature for the purpose of this application.
• 4.Understand that the Z83 Declaration states: "I declare that all the information provided (including any attachments) is complete and correct to the best of my knowledge. I understand that any false information provided will result in my application being disqualified or disciplinary action taken against me if I am appointed."
• 5.Accept that this authorisation applies to each government application you submit through NewGenJobs, and that a separate Z83 is completed per application with the specific job title, department, and reference number for that post.
• 6.Understand that you can review and update your Z83 profile at any time via your dashboard, and that updated information will be used for all future applications.

Important: NewGenJobs is not a signatory to your application. The Z83 is completed with your details and your authorised representation of your signature. You remain the applicant of record and are responsible for the accuracy of all information submitted. NewGenJobs does not verify qualifications, employment history, or any other information you provide.

6. CV data

By uploading a CV, you grant NewGenJobs a limited licence to process, store, and use your CV solely for the purpose of providing the platform's services (CV feedback and job applications). This licence ends when you delete your CV or close your account.

7. Job listings accuracy

Listings may be organised from official publishers, employer websites and public vacancy publications. We may show source details, a last-check date, parsed requirements or application preparation notes. These aids do not replace the employer’s advert. NewGenJobs does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability or timeliness of a listing; always verify the official employer source, closing date and instructions before applying.

8. Study providers and bursaries

University, TVET college, private-provider and bursary information is provided to help you compare options. We do not represent any provider or funder and do not guarantee a programme’s availability, accreditation, admission criteria, funding value, eligibility or closing date. Apply only through the provider’s or funder’s official route and confirm the exact qualification, campus, fees, documents and conditions before paying or submitting personal information.

9. Public tools, learning and completion records

NewGenJobs provides free public career tools, including CV checks, CV-to-job comparisons and a South African take-home pay estimate. These tools provide general guidance only. They do not guarantee an interview, job offer, application outcome, tax result, payroll deduction or financial outcome.

Our workplace courses and skill assessments are non-accredited learning content. A completion record or certificate confirms only the learning activity recorded on NewGenJobs and is not a qualification, occupational certification, SETA programme, professional licence or promise of employment. A certificate can be issued only after the course’s published completion and assessment requirements have been met. You remain responsible for deciding whether any suggested keyword, skill or course content accurately reflects your own experience.

10. Academy and waitlist

Academy programmes shown as coming soon or early access are not an offer of enrolment, a promise of a launch date, or a guarantee of a place. Joining a waitlist permits NewGenJobs to contact you about that programme. If paid programmes are introduced in future, their price, refund terms and enrolment conditions will be shown before any payment is requested.

11. Advertising

NewGenJobs is funded by advertising revenue. Sponsored job listings are clearly labelled. We never disguise sponsored content as organic results. We never use your personal data for ad targeting.

12. Limitation of liability

NewGenJobs provides the platform "as is". We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, including unsuccessful job applications, missed deadlines, or Gmail integration failures.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time via Account Settings.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
