About administrative roles in South Africa

These roles form the operational backbone of every department and offer a stable entry point into a public sector career with a clear progression path.

·Government admin roles almost always require a Z83 form and a detailed CV listing all previous administrative experience with exact dates.
·Computer literacy is listed as a requirement in nearly every admin advert. Specify which software you are proficient in, particularly Microsoft Office.
·Many admin roles require a valid driver's licence. If you have one, make it prominent on your CV.
·For Senior Administrative Officer posts, management experience and the ability to supervise staff are assessed during interviews.
