Human Resources professionals are in demand across all sectors of the South African economy. In the public service, HR posts are advertised regularly at salary levels 7 to 12, covering everything from HR clerks to Chief Directors of Human Resources. Labour Relations is a particularly in-demand HR specialism in South Africa given the complexity of the Labour Relations Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and the Employment Equity Act. Familiarity with PERSAL (the government HR system) is essential for most public sector HR roles.
This vacancy is within Department of Traditional Affairs. Government departments in South Africa advertise vacancies through the Public Service Commission and are required to follow a standardised recruitment process governed by the Public Service Act.
