Requirements

Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, three (3) years Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6/7 as recognised by SAQA) in Education/ Communication and Marketing/ Social Science. Five (5) years’ relevant working experience within road safety environment. Three (3) to Five (5) years must be at Junior Management level (Assistant Director). A valid driving license. Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service Regulation, Public Service Act. Project Management. Advance knowledge of Road Safety programmes and projects. An understanding of PFMA, Treasury Regulations and other related prescripts and the ability to implement the same. A thorough knowledge of Road Safety Community Engagement matters and other road traffic related legislations, as well as policy guidelines governing road safety management. Proven ability to develop and produce road safety community programmes. Computer literacy. Skills: Good verbal and communication skills. Strong liaison and negotiation skills. A creative, assertive and confident approach with road safety research projects. Planning, facilitation and coordination skills, Monitoring and evaluation, Meeting procedures and presentation, Report writing skills, Verbal and written communication skills, Computer literacy. The ability to interact professionally and effectively with diverse stakeholders. Interpersonal relations, report writing, problem solving and analytical skills. Planning and organising, Teamwork, Flexibility and Conflict resolution. 302

Duties

Conduct research on community engagement strategies and develop relevant strategies for the Province. Develop and monitor implementation of road safety community projects. Liaise with community based structures and other relevant stakeholders on road safety matters. Manage and coordinate road safety community engagement programmes and projects. Monitor and evaluate road safety community engagement projects in the Province. Advice communities about the process and regulations of the Road Accident Fund.
