Salary

R1 317 384 – R1 551 807 per annum (Level 13), (inclusive package). An all- inclusive salary package structured as follows: Basic salary – 70% of package; State contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund – 13% of basic salary. The remaining flexible portion may be structured in terms of the applicable remuneration rules. The successful candidate will be required to enter into a performance agreement within three months after assumption of duty.

Requirements

An appropriate recognised bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Education Management, Educational Planning, Public Administration, Development Studies, Rural Development, Public Management, Geography, Town and Regional Planning, Social Sciences, Economics, Project Management or a related field. A postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8 or higher) in any of the aforementioned fields will serve as an added advantage. Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service Senior Management Service (SMS) Pre-Entry Programme. A valid driver's licence (except for persons with disabilities). A minimum of five (5) years' experience at a middle/senior management level within the education sector, public sector planning, institutional planning, rural development, educational transformation, school 99 governance, infrastructure planning, district coordination, educational access programmes or related fields. Demonstrable experience in school landscape planning, school rationalisation and realignment processes, education transformation initiatives, institutional planning, rural education development and educational access programmes. Proven experience in coordinating strategic projects and programmes aimed at improving educational outcomes, institutional efficiency and equitable access to quality education. Extensive experience in policy development, strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes within the education sector. Proven ability to analyse demographic, enrolment, migration, geographic and socio- economic trends to inform school provisioning, school sustainability and education planning decisions. Key Duties

  • ·Provide mapping, and planning services for schools, hostels and scholar transport
  • ·Provide revitalisation of schools
  • ·Provide the coordination of rural education support
  • ·conduct planning liaison with circuits on institutional needs
  • ·Facilitate planning for school extension and new school creation
  • ·Facilitate the planning for scholar transport and new hostels
  • ·Coordinate the right sizing of schools
  • ·Administer the approval of changes in school type and classification
  • ·Provide data and spatial analysis services
  • ·Conduct agricultural schools revitalisation
