About driving and logistics roles in South Africa

Driving and logistics roles are advertised consistently across South Africa in both the public and private sectors. Professional driving permits (PrDPs) are required for operators of goods vehicles, public transport vehicles, and vehicles carrying dangerous goods.

·Always specify the class of vehicle you are licensed to drive, the date your licence was issued, and whether you hold a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
·Government driver posts are typically graded at salary level 3 to 5 and require a minimum of a Code 8 licence.
·Heavy motor vehicle and articulated truck drivers with clean records and multiple years of experience command significantly higher salaries in the private sector.
·Logistics coordinator and fleet management roles increasingly require computer literacy and experience with fleet management software.
