·A SAMTRAC (Safety Management Training Certificate) or equivalent NOSA qualification is the baseline credential for most South African HSE roles.
·For mining safety roles, a SIMRAC or Mine Overseer certificate may be required depending on the level of the post.
·ISO auditor certification (Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor) is valuable for quality management roles.
·The Department of Employment and Labour periodically advertises inspection posts for its Health and Safety Inspectorate. These posts require relevant technical experience and are based provincially.
