Requirements

Grade 10 (NQF level 2) or relevant equivalent qualification. No experience required. All shortlisted candidates, including SMS, shall undertake two pre- entry assessments. One must be a practical exercise, and the other must be an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment. Knowledge of Minor maintenance, cleaning of harbor areas, administration, dry docking and safety policies. General administration skills, Maintenance and equipment. Basic finance principles. OHSA Procedures. Ability to work under extreme pressure, ability to work with difficult persons and to resolve conflicts, ability to work long hours voluntarily and ability to gather and analyse information. A valid Driving license.

Duties

Infrastructure maintenance. Cleaning and painting of walls, roof and ceiling, filling for potholes, clearing road edges/fallen trees, watering of plants, skoffeling along the fence and around the building and maintain hedge trees and campsite. Rehabilitation of degraded forest areas. Slashing of alien plants, planting of indigenous seeding. Manage fires. Skoffelling of fire belts and tracer belts, spraying and burning of fire belts, firefighting and sharpening of tools such as hand hoes etc. Manage woodlot. Reduction and coppice shots 2 and 3 stands/stumps, Alien invasive control within woodlots and clear felling of poles left in the Woodlock after harvesting of timber has been conducted.
