Medical officer and health professional posts in South Africa are advertised primarily through provincial Departments of Health. The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) registration is a mandatory requirement for all medical, dental, and allied health professional posts. Posts are available across all nine provinces, with the greatest concentration in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape. Rural posts often carry a rural allowance in addition to the base salary.
This vacancy is within Provincial Administration: Kwazulu Natal. Government departments in South Africa advertise vacancies through the Public Service Commission and are required to follow a standardised recruitment process governed by the Public Service Act. Applications are screened against the minimum requirements listed in the advert before any CV is reviewed by a panel.
Shortlisted candidates are contacted directly by the department. If you do not receive a response within 90 days of the closing date, your application was not successful. NewGenJobs tracks every application you submit through your personal dashboard so you always know where you stand.
