About project management roles in South Africa

Project management is a growing professional field in South Africa, with demand in construction, IT, government infrastructure, and professional services. ·Government project management roles often require knowledge of the Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS) for built environment projects.
·Agile and Scrum certifications are valued in IT and technology-adjacent project management roles.
·Senior project management roles typically require a degree plus a formal project management qualification, not just work experience.
