Legal professionals in South Africa operate under a dual qualification system - attorneys are admitted through the Legal Practice Council and advocates through a Bar Council. Government legal posts - particularly at the State Attorney's office, National Prosecuting Authority, and Legal Aid South Africa - are advertised through PSC Circulars and department career pages. Compliance roles in banking, insurance, and listed companies are governed by sector-specific regulatory frameworks including FICA, POPIA, and FSB regulations.
This vacancy is within National Prosecuting Authority. Government departments in South Africa advertise vacancies through the Public Service Commission and are required to follow a standardised recruitment process governed by the Public Service Act. Applications are screened against the minimum requirements listed in the advert before any CV is reviewed by a panel.
Shortlisted candidates are contacted directly by the department. If you do not receive a response within 90 days of the closing date, your application was not successful. NewGenJobs tracks every application you submit through your personal dashboard so you always know where you stand.
